Reservoir and Goucher Street Waterline Replacement

The City of Amity received two million dollars of Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSFRF) to update essential infrastructure in our water system. The City is using those funds to replace waterlines from Rice Lane to the Reservoir and along Goucher Street with new larger waterlines. Construction of these waterlines has been completed. The City was also able to utilize the remaining grant funding to rebuild and repave Goucher street after the waterline installation. 

Comprehensive Plan Update

The City of Amity recently adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan. 

Mixing Zone Study

The City of Amity is currently working through completing a Mixing Zone Study to analyze the impact of the City's wastewater outfall in the Salt Creek. This study looks at the environmental impact of our wastewater and estimates how diluted certain chemicals and nutrients are as it enters the Salt Creek. For example, when ammonia is present in our wastewater, it can cause a spike in the level of Ammonia in Salt Creek, which can be toxic to the fish and wildlife that live there.
